Tamra Cameron / Speech Language Pathologist

Tamra Cameron M.S. CCC-SLP

Subject or Grade: Speech PreK-6th

I am the speech pathologist for the preschool and the MD SCILLS classrooms. Throughout the school year, therapy will be provided in your child’s classroom or in the therapy room at least one day per week. Therapy sessions include large group, small group and individual therapy sessions. When I am not in the classroom, your child’s teacher and classroom staff will incorporate language activities into their daily routine that work on your child’s goal/s. We will all work hard to achieve mastery of your child’s goal/s, but we also want the activities to be as fun as possible. Children learn more quickly when activities are enjoyable.

I enjoy the challenge of working with children who have significant communication delays and hope to find ways for each individual child to reach their full potential and communicate in their environment.

About Me

I am a Gilbert Public Schools employee and this is my fifth year working in Gilbert School District. I have been a speech language pathologist for nine years. I received my Bachelors Degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Arizona State University, and earned a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Northern Arizona University.  I have since been employed in educational and rehabilitation settings with children and adults. Prior to becoming a speech language pathologist, I worked in the schools, as a paraprofessional.  The classroom I worked in was for children with severe communication delays. I was motivated by the speech language pathologist, learned many techniques for working with these students, and was inspired to make this my new career.
